She didn’t get much and whatever she got was spent almost immediately. She has zero financial knowledge, asks her mom for money all the time “for the kids”, and doesn’t work. I don’t know what Dean does that makes her think she’s getting anything from him. 😂 She’s seriously delusional when it comes to money matters.
Her dad gave the bulk of the money to his wife and gave both Tori and her brother the same amount of money. He knew exactly what he was doing because while the brother has lived within his means and is fine Tori blew through her inheritance. She's notoriously awful with money and Candi refuses to give her more, paying only for housing and the children's expenses because she doesn't want them starving/out on the street.
She had plenty of time to learn how to properly budget her money and didn’t. I get that she grew up in an environment where money was no object, so she was used to a certain lifestyle. Going from all the money to no money has gotta be a mindfuck, but it doesn’t seem like learned anything from that. I’m glad that Cindy has ensured the kids are taken care of, but let’s be honest, that shouldn’t rest solely on Cindy.
From what I read back in the day in gossip rags (so take with a grain of salt) Spelling did try to teach her the value of work and making her own money, which is why he gave her the role of Donna on 90210 and encouraged her to save and basically adult? It didn't work though because she spent her 90210 checks almost as soon as she got them. He meant for the inheritance money to be a kickstart to something else, not to live in luxury and spend, spend, spend. He was smart to put the bulk of his fortune in Candy's hands because if Tori got her hands on it, it would have been gone a long time ago. Rumor mill also says that Candy has set aside a certain amount into trusts for the grandchildren that neither Tori or Dean can touch because she never trusted Dean's motivations in the first place and wasn't about bankrolling a grown ass man.
I read that she *only* inherited like $800,000, i guess back in 2006ish. Which, while a shit ton of money that would change most people's lives, isn't exactly enough to live on for decades. I mean, world's smallest violin because she could've gotten a legit job, but that is such a tiny amount compared to Aaron Spelling's fortune. I think a truly caring parent would at least have set up like a spendthrift trust with a set amount of $ per year to make sure she's never broke/homeless and can at least cover her vital expenses, can't get manipulated into wasting her money in bad relationships or bad business dealings, etc.
He seemed to be such a devoted dad so i wonder WTH he was thinking.
