omg I graduated high school in 99. Everyone's graduation song was that "I hope you had the time of your lives" or whatever. It was such a vibe.

The ride I just took regarding that song lol. I was ready to say “remember when people thought Baz Luhrmann narrated that song!!?” Then I googled and was like “oh shit, I guess he did!” Just to keep reading and he did not in fact narrate it but he produced it and it’s on his album but Lee Perry did the voice work.

I think 1999 was vivid because 2000 was right around the corner and we were all either intentionally or not, focused on wtf if anything would happen at midnight lol. I remember the news being on way more that year in my home than any other year so I was hyper aware of everything going on in the media. 😂
