“Euphoria” Season 3 has been delayed at HBO.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

March 25, 2024 Quick timeline of events:
- Over the past few months, multiple cast members had said they knew nothing about season 3 or when it would start filming
- A few weeks ago, Sydney Sweeney said in an interview that after finishing promo for her new movie she was going right into Euphoria filming. People were surprised because no filming news had come out and other cast had said they knew nothing about filming. In a different interview, she said filming started in the next two months
- Suddenly in the last week, she changed her tune and said "honestly nobody has any idea" about when filming would start
- Yesterday World of Reel said Euphoria season 3 was cancelled and the cast were told Friday they should pursue other ventures. The source isn't the most reliable so people didn't believe it, but multiple people who work in the film industry on reddit said they had also heard the same from friends who worked on the show as crew members
- It seems like HBO was forced to put out a statement addressing the rumors due to all of this. It seems like it was actually meant to start filming in May but is being pushed back indefinitely and those involved were in fact told they can book other roles just last week
- HBO says the season will still premiere in 2025, but seems unlikely considering the show typically takes 8-9 months to film a season
- To no one's surprise, Sam Levinson is to blame. HBO says in their statement the season is being delayed because he is still writing the scripts (despite the fact that the last season wrapped in 2021)
