So many…”jizz” references in those shows…

I was a few years older than a lot of the shows they referenced but i was such a Katrina from All That fan so i clung to every word of hers.

There’s one thing to be *wink wink* to parents to keep them entertained while they watch nonsense with their kids and then there’s…that.

I also felt strange that Drake was not willing to give details just for the doc to share those details a minute later. I know it’s public record now but I hope they let him know they’d be showing it. And his dad…it broke my heart.

I read a headline, will admit I didn’t follow up, that the creator of Ren and Stimpy is a POS and now I’m afraid to rewatch that show as well.

I watched a documentary about Ren and Stimpy recently and I was afraid it would gloss over what a POS Kricfalusi was but thankfully it didn't. They did interviews with some of the women he targeted and he gave a total BS response but there are multiple people he groomed. It was my favorite cartoon as a kid (I loved gross stuff lol) but yeah it makes me not want to go back and watch it now.

Oh wow, I didn’t realize there was a full fledged doc about it!

I loooooved the show as well (and yes, it was so gross lol), so no judgement.

Oh geeez. I loved Ren & Stimpy and as an aspiring animator I followed his blog pretty religiously. He taught me a lot about art. I stopped following after things about mistreating women came out... I had no idea about him grooming people. Fuck.

I felt the exact same way about Drake. It literally took 1 minute for the documentary to reveal the unspeakable actions Drake apparently didn't wish to disclose.

He tried his best which makes it so much worse. I applaud Drake’s gf’s mom for catching on and doing something about it. All the best to her!

All I kept thinking was "he's such a good dad." They were both done so fucking dirty by being pulled apart.

i took it as he personally felt like he didn't know how to describe it in his own words. the documentary shows the official charges yes but maybe drake felt like he didn't know how to say he was raped not just by brian himself but with brian using objects (sex toys i'm assuming) as well.

me too. it sounds like they would have i watched that whole interview with drake and he said he turned down previously documentaries so him feeling safe with the director of quiet on set makes me think they did. plus they were the one to show him the letters. it's heartbreaking that he didn't even know they existed before that!

Wait, what?? Where is the interview where he read the letters?? I thought he knew of them beforehand. Ughhhh I don’t even want to know.

I know he has been abusive himself and it’s not an excuse but I just hope he has rehabilitated and the abuse doesn’t carry on 😓

But thank you for saying that he trusted the filmmakers. I can’t help but assume that he’s been wanting to share this but with the appropriate people so it’s not just a weekly headline people gossip on.

about 30ish minutes into the interview (i timestamped right before he mentions it). the whole interview is long but worth the watch.

Only watched about 5 minutes but plan to watch the whole thing - he is empathetic to basically say “they prob wrote the letters with minimum information” but as we were told, he spoke at the hearing, so those who wrote the letters eventually knew and for none of them to recant or apologize….

they talk a bit about the boy meets world cast apologizing on their podcast but drake says that he worked with will friedle later in his career on spiderman and that will never apologized. i give him props for the way he talks about others without trying to outright be mean about them. i really do hope his rehab treatment has helped him process not only the abuse he experienced himself but his accountability for the abuse he placed on others because he really has been empathetic when it comes to people who wrote the letters and not trying to speak for others who experienced dan's abuse as well just because dan didn't do anything to him.
