My brother lived this but it was pretty much just emotional abuse on his wife’s side due to her drinking and multiple affairs. He finally separated from her and died only months later. I know he loved her, but he was constantly in some kind of turmoil with her and I wish he’d had a life with a love that didn’t include constant pain.

I hope she gets away from him, or they get away from each other. Life is too short to suffer because of something that is supposed to enrich and bring joy to your existence. I know it’s not that simple for a lot of people, but these two should just end the relationship.

i'm sorry that happened to your brother and that he passed away im assuming way too young. <3 it takes real strength to leave. i also hope these two get away from each other. i think it's long past the point of feeling like a relationship, and she probably feels responsible for his mental health and has mother-like empathy for his younger, complete mess self and he feels like she's his rock. usually this kinda thing takes something horrible to end, i hope she maybe finds enlightenment in her kids.

Thank you so much for your kind words 🥹💜 and I completely agree with your assessment. I’ve been in that situation personally; I even wrote the guy’s mom an apology letter because I couldn’t take care of him anymore and I had so much guilt. It seems like codependency. I also hope her kids help her and that they’re also protected from as much of this as possible 😞

<3333 i can only make the assessment because i was also there. i remember reaching the point where i felt like a single mother at 23 damn years old and he wasnt even younger, everything just revolved around taking care of him and ~personal growth and omg. hell. and i still stayed because of the guilt, and it's a response the abusive situation and it all just drags you down deeper. i am truly very proud of you for leaving and so glad you did! i never managed but thank god the only decent thing that dude did was dump me when i started really acting out and there wasn't much else to gain.

I’m so thankful that you’re out of that situation! It took him moving across the country and me getting distance to realize what a hostage I was or else I’m honestly not sure what would have happened. It’s such a sad cycle. We’re both outta there, thank goodness!!! ❤️❤️❤️
