I can't believe I used to dislike Mark (for no reason either, just a "Who is this dude?" thing)

Right? His wiki page has most of his views and apart from the 911 truther part, they've aged fairly well.... though in his defense if the government was on my ass as much as they're on his ass, I probably wouldn't believe them either.

Also I had no idea he's been through this much shit.

After completing work on the film The Last Castle, Ruffalo was diagnosed with a vestibular schwannoma, a type of brain tumor also known as an acoustic neuroma. The tumor was found to be benign; however, the surgery to remove the mass resulted in partial facial paralysis and affected his hearing.[50] The paralysis subsided after a year, but Ruffalo remains deaf in his left ear.[51]

On December 1, 2008, Ruffalo's younger brother, Scott, was found outside his home on North Palm Drive in Beverly Hills with an execution-style bullet wound to the head.[52][53] Scott was taken to a hospital, but died the following week.[54] The case remains unsolved. [55]

I take back every nonsensical thing I ever had against him. Like for WHAT. I think it was just one of those things where he was suddenly in a bunch of shit and I was like who is this man?!

I love him now. I was dumb

I feel like the way some people treat him is very much letting perfect be the enemy of good. He's not perfect but he clearly cares and seems willing to learn.

This. I think he’s willing to admit to being wrong and willing to grow. I think he also hasn’t always been well-spoken on some topics so it makes people wonder about his views. But I get the sense he has a strong moral compass and is willing to be unpopular to be fair and just.

This is such a problem in leftist circles. So much infighting, holding people to unreasonable standards, etc.

It’s such a big problem that we can’t seem to move forward and unite either :/

I see a lot of hypocrisy in many circles. People will say one thing, and then do the other while not holding themselves to the same standard.

Yeah, we still have yet to define where the line starts at "too far" left

yeah and also on the other hand someone has good views on something and suddenly they can do no wrong. people need to just chill.

Ehhhh, he was asked politely to not say a racial slur on television and proceeded to start repeatedly chanting it. His apology was essentially 'I didn't know it was bad'. Yeah, except there's footage of you being literally told, you fuckin spoon.

He's quite possibly improved and he seems to have a lot of other perfectly normal views, but that soured me on him.

this. he's still a mediocre yt man to me and still very pro-cop which largely negates any "anti-racist" statements he makes imo

I had no idea he’s been through so much. I’ve been a fan of his for years.

Oh my god!

The "execution style" fucks me up bc that's often done for very specific reasons.

I used to be low key annoyed by him in typical ONTD fashion because of his whole performative ‚it is time‘ stick but I take it all back too. He’s pretty much the only bigger name I’ve seen talk about this openly and I have so much respect for him. It must be hard.
