Speculation that more Downton Abbey might be on the way first popped up last month. Some rumours suggested another movie was in production, while others claimed a new season of the show and/or a series spin-off about the next generation was in the works.
Imelda Staunton appeared in both Downton Abbey movies and is married to Jim Carter, who played butler Charles Carson in all six seasons of the show plus both movies. When asked by Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 today if the rumours were true, Staunton said that a final third film is in the works. Ball said she hoped she wouldn't get in trouble for confirming, to which Staunton responded: "I don't care." (OP note: lol)
