I understand how we can follow our parents’ footsteps without even trying. I’m going back to college this year to finally finish my bachelors. I was going through some of my dad’s old things (he passed in 2013) and realized he was also 36 years old when he went back to finish his. And we were both derailed from finishing it when we were younger due to alcoholism and massive anxiety. I quit alcohol four years ago so I’m attempting to break the cycle because my dads side of the family was nearly all alcoholics.

That's amazing! Wishing you the best with school. I'm 35 and currently in my junior year at university. There's a lot more people our age going back to school than you might think. I was really nervous about doing it, but it has been an incredibly positive experience.
