That's amazing. I'm shocked that a residual check would be that substantial tho. We usually hear about people getting pennies.

Depends on the episodes, popularity of the show, and syndication I guess. And also back then box-set of seasons sold a lot as well.

I've seen people say that the residual can be up and down. Like when a movie is played on TV the residual may be higher if it gets a lot of repeats and is currently popular but they can be low if that popularity is not there.

Even shows that used to run reruns on broadcast TV/cable and give fairy decent residuals now give pennies if they're on Netflix/etc.

Hollywood (or whatever) residuals and payments are weird and I wish I could understand it. I know a lot of actors who have said one commercial supports them.

yeah commercials can be big money because typically the actors get paid every single time the commercial runs

think about people like the lady who plays Flo on the Progressive commercials... it's good money

Yes! In my head I’m like “get that money, Flo!” And have seen her in a couple things like Mad Men.

She makes me think of Milana Vayntrub who was similar. To me she’ll always be Tatiana in “ER” but she was in This Is Us (which I hope she had a good contract).

i knew a non-actor woman who appeared in one of those capital one commercials that features real small businesses. she was one of the employees and took a year off work bc she was able to live off the royalties from that commercial alone. i was agog.
