Though we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago

every apology that references a time frame, in order to literally distance themselves from wrongdoing, is a giant, blaring, guilty sign to me. disgusting.

also i've seen clips from the doc and the adults who talk about schneider as if they weren't complicit in his treatment of these kids were pissing me off. yeah, they weren't in the same position of power but you don't get to now act like you didn't heehee and hawhaw to keep your job or rise in the ranks. maybe this is addressed, i hope so.

i saw one clip of a young actor playing a character called nose boy or something and he had what looked like literally dicks on his costume. how the hell did that pass broadcast standards and practices?

I mean, this is the same network that had a character named Penelope Taynt and was convinced that was appropriate.

tbf, I always thought her last name was Tate and had never heard the word "taynt" before

Same! It's been years since I watched The Amanda Show but I swore it was Penelope Tate. Guess this was me before subtitles. :/

They actually brought that up in the doc. It was deliberate (of course.) Apparently Nick execs questioned it and Schneider denied it and said it was supposed to be like "tainted".

Their use of the phrase "decades ago" feels like a very deliberate effort to distance themselves which is bull shit. They knew it was happening and they did not try to protect these kids. I still remember Jennette McCurdy said that when Sam & Cat was cancelled, they offered her a $300k bonus but the caveat was that she couldn't talk about what happened at Nickelodeon.

I noticed that too. The way they talk, you'd think all this stuff happened in the 1970s, not 2007!
