It is possible they know she's a lost cause, but they're responding because there are others watching and may not be lost causes.

I think a good part of it is trying to make sure she doesn't go unchallenged (for anyone who might just uncritically read her otherwise) than really in hopes of changing her mind.

Though there are def a few naive folk thinking they might be able to reason with her. She's way too far down the conspiracist pipeline for that.
