They have these stickers you can put on your window for firefighters that indicate how many and what kind of pets are in the house. I once got one as a freebie at some event. I am a little skeptical how firefighters could/would really notice and read the sticker in the event of a fire, but i guess it's better than nothing.

i really need to get one of those but also i rent and im not supposed to have pets. chances my landlord would ever come to my building? about 0 and i doubt my neighbors would rat me out since most new yorkers mind their damn business. it’s tricky. i should just do it. my kitties are the most important things to me. we can live in a box happy together if i get kicked out lol

That's how I feel about hurricanes (FL). We'll survive together or perish together, but I would never leave them.

I know I am so glad they survived -- two of my cats are the type that would literally run and hide should anything happens so I"ve always been so scared of needing to urgently evacuate my house b/c i just know they'd be really hard to get :/
