The last season was such a bore, i hope the new one will be better. The quality of tasks went downhill, i hope they listened to Sam's feedback. I realised that my favorite seasons include the bickering cast, i love when people take the competition seriously. First, second, seven, thirteen, and fifteen are all about opinions and backstabbing, and i need more of that energy.
I remember reading somewhere (or listening to an interview?) where Alex admitted that a lot of the tasks were suggested by his kids, I wonder if now that they grew up it gets harder to come up with the most silliest tasks...
tm nz 1-3 were amazing, perfect run. i was rly disappointed with 4 though, it had its moments but on the whole i found it much weaker than the previous three. which is a shame bc i showed it to friends to convince them how great the nz version is lmaooo, and one said "i don't rly see it" lol.
i don't even remember that season, i had to google the cast. i liked seasons two and three the best. The tasks like "touch the cow" and "recite pi" are so simple, but the contestants were great and made it funny to my delight.
a lot? i remember only two, i think - the grape and the milk one. but i agree, tasks are way better in NZ version. Maybe UK has the time limit, which makes it worse, because NZ is dedicated to it.
Can't remember them all but off the top of my head: the secret task, the team saboteur task, the "make a sausage" task, the toilet paper tower shoe live task, and human warboat/battleship were all NZ originals.
I liked the last series' cast (The one before that? Zzz...). But I agree the tasks are going downhill, partly because some of them are so complicated or necessarily grand. I miss when tasks were generally simpler, like "Get these balls on top of the hill" or "Hide from the assistant." One of the funnier tasks from the one with Fern Brady was meant to be a tiebreak (snort, raspberry, whistle) that they found so funny they included it as a main task, but it was simple.
I didn't like that task at all lol but i agree with you in terms of complicated tasks My favorites are: eat the watermelon, be third to high five, find ducks, and find out what happens when you flip the switch on. In terms of tasks that were meant to be a tiebreak but ended up being the main one, i like Lasso Alex. There are so many poor choices, and not just from David.
I thought it was the most insane cast they had ever had; I'm surprised you found it boring. I enjoyed the cast a lot, even though it was not as competitive a vibe as other seasons. I agree that some tasks didn't quite work, but there are always some of those and I'm sure it is becoming harder and harder to find new task ideas.
They could always borrow tasks from other countries or even hire people who come up with them. This was probably my least favorite cast, too weird for me, i guess. Especially, Lucy, i don't get that humor at all. I enjoyed watching her husband much more. Julian Clary and his one-liners were a delight, though.
That's fair. It's a kind of weird I enjoy, but I get why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. I am constantly baffled by Lucy, but that makes me laugh so much. It's quite a mystery than she and Jon Richardson are married though as they seem so different, but they probably complement each other.
My least favourite cast is S10 with Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Richard Herring, and Mawaan Rizwan. Sometimes, you're not quite on the vibe of a cast.
I like Katherine Parkinson as an actress, but she seemed like such a wounded bird at times, I felt bad for her. I'm especially thinking of the prize task when she brought her mask she had made. I think it was more than it didn't feel like they jelled as a cast. (Johnny Vegas is very hit or miss for me.)

or they could use tasks from taskmaster NZ, the superior version of TM

Alex needs to cooperate with NZ team, they clearly know what they're doing
