We went to see Love Lies Bleeding last night, and whew, that was terrible! According to my Letterboxd friends, I am absolutely alone in this opinion, but it did not work for me at all. It was going for the pulpy, violent, modern noir of Drive with a lesbian pairing at the center, and I was absolutely down for that, but it just didn't come together. The script was god-awful, KStew was terrible (and I usually like her!), and the last act was something. I will say that I enjoyed Katy O'Brian and would see her in more things, and Dave Franco was perfect casting for his role.

Gonna see TASoMN and Problemista sometime over the next few days - fingers crossed I like them better.

Ahh this is such a bummer. My FWB knows I'm also into women and our normal weekend night is to watch a movie and fuck so he sent me the trailer a few days ago and was like "I know you're into be gay/do crime movies so I'm assuming this would make you horny." I felt so seen (even though I'm not into Kristen Stewart at all) and I was looking forward to that pairing whenever it comes to streaming!

I thought Kstew and Katy were good but so much of what happened around them felt unoriginal and bland. I absolutely hated one character who just felt very type-y/cartoony and, of course, that character didn't make it - just felt cruel and silly overall. Everyone in this movie also had way too clear skin for what was going on (especially the one with bad teeth).
I liked it a little better than Saint Maud but its just not a good movie at all.
