She says that but I remember Jake saying he destroyed or threw away all his star wars toys as a result of his bullying over it years ago?

I wish him well though.

I remember the same thing. I think he did an interview and said it. I don't doubt she tried to protect him but this feel somewhat sus. Maybe she doesn't want to bring in more attention to him so saying this just to end that convo

Yeah, he definitely said all that and that he was bullied at school. She did her best I'm sure, but the kid absolutely knew.

Apparently the source of that interview was the Daily Mail/Sun, so not the most reliable. There was a facebook post, not sure if it's legit, where Jake says he never gave the Sun an interview.

Huh idk cause I saw another interview once and he seemed blase about the whole Star Wars experience. Maybe that original quote wasn't real but he def has had negative experience with it.

Do you mean that one weird con interview? I vaguely recall that one and yeah he seemed off/ambivalent about the whole experience. But that could have been for a lot of reasons (like the con experience, considering how obnoxious/entitled con-goers can be... I know actors make bank at cons but man if I were an actor and didn't need the money I would absolutely not go lol) - iirc all the specific claims that he was bullied as a child irl and that he 100% hates/despises his Star Wars experience and destroyed his toys as a result came from that one Sun interview.

I never knew the quotes were from the sun!

lol I just knew the source was British because of the 'mad' part that for whatever reason I remembered all these years later. That sent me down the google rabbit hole.

Anyway, I hope that facebook post is legit (I think it is) and that that interview was made up wholesale. I saw the BTS documentary where he was cast and he was so excited to be in Star Wars, it was cute. Hated thinking all these years that the whole thing had been soured for him because of assholes online and irl.
