Bradley Cooper spent years perfecting his performance (plus writing and directing) in hopes of securing an Oscar for Maestro, but instead, his performance was seemingly overshadowed by his "desperation" to win, and the Oscar for Best Actor instead went to quiet frontrunner Cillian Murphy.

I read somewhere that during A Star Is Born promo Bradley portrayed himself as this aloof and above it all director which rubbed critics and media the wrong way - he apparently told a journalist in an interview at that time he wouldn’t bother to explain the movie to her because she wouldn’t understand his art. So he did the opposite for Maestro promo but he went too far in that direction again. I think people can pick up on the fakeness of both approaches.

The pap walks with Gigi Hadid didn’t help either. He looks ridiculous and no one believes the relationship.

I’m sure he’ll try again, I don’t think he’s someone who’s seen as overdue though so he has to actually make a good movie. I watched Maestro and it was particularly let down by the awful screenplay he wrote himself. I think he needs to just let someone else write and direct his films and he should focus on acting.

He was trying too hard to get a director nomination and ignored the actor race, and ended up with neither.

I truly can’t fathom why he went this hard for an Oscar and then went on pap walks with his 20-something girlfriend in Ellen undies!

The NY Times Magazine interview he gave during "A Star is Born" is one of the best pieces of celebrity writing I have ever read. He comes off as SUCH an ass

He just rubs me the wrong way. I've never cared for him. Everything about him appears phony. Hmmm, let's try this and see if they like me...nope? Let's try this...

I think he is very overrated. Yes, he's had a few decent roles, but none that I thought were award-worthy.
