He's a white man. They'll bend over backwards to give him one sooner or later. One year everyone will be all like, "it's his time!" "he deserved it for such and such."

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for another black woman to win best actress.

Totally. And they'll also bend over backwards to say it's not about the narrative at all and that he actually deserves it for a career best performance. When we all know it's about the narrative. But shhhhhhh that's only okay if you're white.

Lol tbf Robert had his ups and downs in the industry cause he was ridiculed and considered a lost cause and fallen star when he was going through it with his drug problems. Getting fired from Ally McBeal and then having issues getting insured after cleaning up his act.

Compared to most he definitely had to work his up again to get back into the industry's good graces.

So I don't think it's a fair comparison.

its fair because theyre the ones desperate to ~redeem him, as if playing a billionaire jackass in a suit is some form of cinematic contribution

i know people say this about every actor but he plays himself in every role. he was just himself in a wig and makeup in oppenheimer.

He is so insufferable and I’m just glad the Awards season is over so we won’t see his obnoxious self anymore
