Bradley Cooper spent years perfecting his performance (plus writing and directing) in hopes of securing an Oscar for Maestro, but instead, his performance was seemingly overshadowed by his "desperation" to win, and the Oscar for Best Actor instead went to quiet frontrunner Cillian Murphy.

He should direct a film about his relationship with Victor Garber. He might win an oscar for that.

Before he became a household name, Bradley's nickname on ONTD was "Victor Garber's Bottom Bitch." Once he became super famous he had a series of model girlfriends and had a baby with one of them. But we know where he's been!

Lol, he turned what people thought was going to be a conventional Leonard Bernstein biopic into a movie about Leonard Bernstein constantly cheating on his wife with men and feeling guilty about it.

My mom watched half of it and got so mad because she thought she was going to learn about Leonard Bernstein but learned about nothing other than his cheating she turned it off, but I went 👀

See, I felt the movie downplayed his attraction to men because sure, men were there, but it was mostly implied. I get that Cooper wanted to center the movie on Bernstein's relationship with his wife, but I can't really say I understood how they worked or why they stayed together. I have a lot of issues with that movie.

I could not for the life of me figure out why made the movie about that, but this makes sense...

it's a pretty flawed movie but it is absolutely fascinating when one considers who is directing and writing it lol. like an actor/writer/director with Those blind items making a movie about a closeted guy living a double life is fucking nuts

yeah, my theory is that he used leonard bernstein's life story as a safe space to work through his own similar struggles - if he had made a "fictional" story, people would have clocked what he was doing more quickly, but in making a biopic, he has more plausible deniability plus it's always less lonely to know other people went through the same thing as you. plus bernstein's family was down for it so nbd. it's really fascinating if you take the movie as a look into cooper's psyche lol.

if that's the case, i actually do feel kind of bad for him because he poured his heart and his soul into something so personal just to be mocked but sometimes the execution just misses. hopefully he tries again and it works out better next time.
