this happened with my mom and my brother's dad. he didn't want anymore kids (he had twins that were 18 when my brother was born) but wanted my mom that was 10 years younger than him to get her tubes tied. she was like "um, no, if we don't work out, i might want more kids!" he actually got it done after they divorced like two years later. 🙄
