This performance, to me, was quite the reminder that Greta/Margot’s (highly debatable) snubs were their own doing. They gave Ryan the funniest, most interesting role in the film, and being the talented actor he is, he went all in and outshined everyone else. I think it’s sweet that he recognizes their work bc as far as the actual material they had, Ken was miles ahead of Barbie.

I love that it was Michael Cera’s idea to have the road signs say “Ken at Work” 😂

I feel like Margot was fine with that because the entire promo cycle was her hyping up Ryan's Ken as being the BEST version of Ryan Gosling on screen 24/7. Like I kept thinking "girl this is nice but lol hype yourself up too!!" but I heard from a lot of other people that she was more focused on hyping herself as a producer so to each their own.

And I did see an interview where she talks about not being seen as a producer/business person due to sexism so she was networking that producer angle.

Good call. IMO she’s already proven herself as an actress and she was probably well aware that Barbie wasn’t really a meaty role. I’m sure she’ll get plenty of chances @ Oscar baity roles given the fantastic combination of hustle, looks and talent she possesses.

Yeah which is why I don't think she was totally bummed about getting snubbed. Even I kept thinking there was a high possibility of it happening. Cause she wasn't gonna win anyway and she ended up getting a Best Picture nom as a producer which gives her that creditability.

So I think everyone got what they kinda wanted (idk about Greta missing out on director though).

They should have had Margot sing What Was I Made For in the movie, then let Billie sing her version over the credits included on OST. Imo.
