I feel badly for her because everyone else has been in stuff afterwards.

What I’ve noticed of big franchises but particularly from the MCU ones is that you’re fine if you already have a career prior to signing up for one.

You see people like Robert Downey Jr, Angela Bassett, Oscar Issac etc…etc do the big franchise films and still good work but that’s because they already have career/hits/acclaim.

Whereas newcomers start with these movies and are mostly known for this which results in typecasting or fewer offers. It’s not every actor who’ll have a Harrison Ford career boost after a Star Wars-like movie.

Harrison Ford had already done Indiana Jones so he was known for that, but Mark Hamill has said he wasn't getting that many offers after Star Wars.

He did Star Wars first then Indiana Jones Came. The first Indiana Jones came after Empire Strikes Back a year later.

First Star Wars came out in 1977 and first Indiana comes in 1981.

You're right, but I guess having that role helped him a lot more than things like American Graffiti.

It was a George Lucas production, so he had that going for him.

Also, if Tom Selleck had not been in a contract (I forget the details) for Magnum P.I. around the time of the show's pilot, it would've been him in Raiders & who know how that would've turned out for the movies and Ford's future.

This reminds me, why wasn't They Cloned Tyrone up for many awards? I mean I know why. But it was such a great movie, and standout performances from the main trio. The technical aspects were all really impressive too.

It's science fiction and Netflix and unfortunately there tends to be a bias against SF in general, awards-wise. Sandman had similar issues.

It also came out shortly before Barbieheimmer, so it was completely overshadowed by those two films. Sad because I enjoyed it and it could have done wonders otherwise.

That was such a good movie! I feel like being tied to Netflix kind of cheapened it. Netflix just puts out so much low brow garbage that it hurts their good movies.

Plus even when streamers do put out amazing stuff the studios are pretty united against it.

She was the most unknown of the cast, the rest already had success, they just weren’t worldwide famous. While it wasn’t necessarily her fault, she never stood out acting-wise in the films and there were already so many young British brunettes on the scene, but it must suck to think you had your big break and no one comes calling.

hasn't this happened with every lead lead of SW? hayden didn't really do anything after his go round and mark has carved a good career and was big in voice acting but you don't see him in many movies. i actually think she was the better lead of the three as well tbh

Yep. Even Natalie came out after the Prequels and said something like, "I had to prove I could act," and took Garden State and any role she could to try and repair the damage.

Her male costars were also known for being very charismatic in the things they were in before as well. I think she's a decent actress but I wouldn't say she has the same charisma.
