I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. It still flummoxes me, and I feel for the victims’ families & there are still so many questions I’m sure they have :(

It’s a shame the families won’t have the closure of burying their loved ones.

I was never comfortable with people’s theories when it came to this tragedy. I felt it was unsettling when people would say “I hope they are just like Lost where they are on an island”. It was equating a tragedy to entertainment, and it never sat right with me.

Also, I think if it was my family member onboard, I would try and find solace/comfort in knowing they perished instantly upon impact due to a crash and NOT potentially stuck on an island for an extended period of time trying to survive the elements somehow with no way of reaching out for help.

Reminds me of the submersible implosion last year. In a grim way, it imploding was better than being trapped and floating somewhere in the ocean.

I first read about this while on a plane, which was probably a bad idea in retrospect

The Atlantic article that explained what happened was really informative. Poor passengers and crew.

a commercial airline pilot committing murder-suicide is so horrifying. suicidality is one thing but i don't understand how someone gets to the point of thinking the best way to kill themselves is to kill a ton of innocent people too. it really freaks me out.

I'm not sure if you're aware of Mentour Pilot and his youtube channel but he had a video about the incident where a jumpseat pilot tried to shut off the engines and he goes into the mental health aspect of aviation quiet a bit

I actually discovered Mentour Pilot due to youtube recs after I'd watched greendotaviation's take on mh370. (https://youtu.be/MhkTo9Rk6_4?si=LUhkpVTv7GW61E8Q)

I have been working my way down the list of MP's every video because wow, he's great at it.

I remember the other similar flight Germanwings Flight 9525 😞 because of it, now it is a rule to not have 1 pilot alone in the cabin. 😔
