I asked my friend about it and she said that it's grown men fucking a woman with the mind of a child and was grossed out.... please tell me there's more to it than that?

There's WAY more to it. Honestly judging all the people who reduce her story to just sex & nudity (let alone her mental growth).

lol I’m judging anyone who takes it seriously coming from a man. It’s misogynistic, male gaze trash.

The ending and overall theme is good but there’s a lot of wtf and questionable/problematic devices to get it there. Including her having a baby’s brain implanted in her while she goes through it all (and there’s a lot of sex along the way). And (slight spoiler alert) the baby is actually her own foetus from when she tried to kill herself.

Ultimately it’s a story about a woman finding her own agency and identity in life, and discovering her bodily autonomy. Cinematography is very pretty and choice of how colour is used is interesting. There are some touching and enlightening moments and some very relevant modern day themes.

I’d say it’s worth a watch personally. Weird baby brain thing aside it was enjoyable.
