lol on the one hand a lot of people took it way too personally and it's weird, yes. But also, like, I refuse to accept that the bar is THAT low for famous men that we're not allowed to be a little disappointed that he treated her like that. I know it's not surprising, but damn, let's hold them to SOME standard!

I agree, people who criticize those who’s criticize Mulaney are weird themselves and acting so above everyone else.
I didn’t know John well before the scandal, I only watched some of his videos on YouTube, but in everyone of those videos he mentioned his wife. His whole persona to me was known as a family guy, so excuse me that I might take her side in the story. I’m not angry at him, in fact, I enjoyed his little cameo in the bear, but the story soured me on him😌

So many people were like 'you actually fell for the whole Wife Guy thing??? Obviously that was just his stage persona, don't be stupid!!' and I'm like...OK, but they were actually married, in real life. It was not a bit. Yes, comedians exaggerate and they're different people onstage, but it was a real marriage and the math makes it pretty clear that he was insensitive to her at the very least. It has not consumed my entire life, I still have a job and stuff, but I'm peeved for her!

What really bothered me was how public the whole thing played out with Olivia Munn. When he went on Seth Meyers and confirmed she was pregnant, then added how great she is and she saved his life, I can’t imagine how hard that must have been for Anna Marie. If the two of them had just stayed low key and not flaunted the relationship, I don’t think people would have reacted so viscerally.

I dunno...I have a tendency to date addicts (my old therapist basically begged me to go to Al-anon) and the whole thing was just fucking textbook messy addict behavior which made it nearly impossible for me to muster up the energy to have any feelings about it.
