I can't be bothered getting into Netflix shows anymore because you know they're gonna get cancelled after 1, maybe 2 seasons. Like what's the incentive for me to get invested when I know Netflix isn't? And I'm sure lots of other people are starting to feel the same about Netflix shows honestly.

Honestly same. It always seems to be the ones I actually like too, like this and Lockwood and co (that one truly broke my heart, the kids had so much heart).

Fuck Netflix !!!

Yeah, I don’t watch new Netflix shows unless they already have 2-3 seasons, which is so detrimental to Netflix because their renewal structure keeps potential new viewers away, leading to lower viewership and cancellations…

I have 1 Netflix show (that’s really a Swedish show with rights sold to Netflix) coming out in less than 2 weeks with its already announced final season, and then I’m done watching Netflix shows 🤷🏼‍♀️

Same, I’m pretty wary of Netflix these days unless it’s a limited series. It’s not even just that shows are getting cancelled, but also the now almost standard two year wait between seasons of just 8 or 10 episodes is making it hard for me to get into their shows unless they’re already complete.

I’ve been binge-watching a lot of older shows these days actually instead, and mourning the loss of longer seasons

Yup, I don't care to wait 2-3 years between ten episode seasons either. It's simply too long of a wait period.

I've seen several articles saying the top streaming shows tend to be older shows with several seasons, so you're not the only one!

I, too, have been watching mostly older shows lately. I love having episodes where you just get to hang out with the characters and get to know them and their dynamics. Holiday themed episodes. Bottle episodes. Seasons long character development! I mean, that's how you get people invested.

exactly, it takes too fucking long. When will we see OP S2? Or Avatar s2? 2027?

Totally agree about the episodes to just be with characters. I don't understand why people hate "filler" episodes. For the most part, there was always something to be gained from those episodes even if was just building the world and more background. You start caring more about the characters.
