I missed the chance to do a Sanremo post, but anyway Italy had SO many good songs in the running this year. Including previous ESC contestant Mahmood, and fourth-placed Ghali who used his post-perfotmance speech to call for an end to the Gaza genocide live on Italian state tv and caused a minor diplomatic incident (stream Casa Mia to make a fascist mad ♥️)

I won't be watching Eurovision but the Sanremo playlist (Italian music festival entries) on spotify is fire

that's because Sanremo is a festival on its own and it just happens that the winners represent the country at ESC (in the past some winners refused to compete, while one year the representative was chosen outside of the sanremo entries), add in that pretty much every songs gets arranged for an orchestra it helps elevating the overall quality imo.

Yeah obviously I'm biased 🇮🇹 but I think Sanremo has more rizz than ESC and that's absolutely down to the orchestra. Next year I'll do more propaganda on ONTD though tbh it probably will be less fun with a new host

Mahmood song was so much better

But Angelina had the fact that her father was a beloved singer that died suddenly and too young, and during the Sanremo Cover night she covered one of his songs (my favorite of his) in such a moving way that only that was enough to make her win

tbh onestamente non mi dispiace che sia stata una donna a vincere per una volta anche se sicuramente è stato un po' pilotato. C'erano canzoni migliori della sua ma ha una voce assurda e la canzone è bellina dai.

opinione random ma io vorrei vedere i pinguini tattici nucleari all'esc perche' secondo me sono abbastanza fuori di testa per portare qualcosa di fantastico (che poi cmq il sogno sarebbero Elio e le storie tese).
