Where's Kate Middleton? Her rep brushes off speculation

Feb 29, 2024 17:01

Various conspiracy theories have been circulating online since Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, underwent surgery and took time off from her royal duties. Kensington Palace said in January that Kate is recovering from planned abdominal surgery. However, people think she may have had cosmetic surgery, is dealing with serious health issues or ( Read more... )

Okay my boring and charitable theory is that maybe, since Elizabeth died things are different Charles decided to run things differently and is letting Kate come back on her own time.

Liz was very "stiff upper lip, go out there and suffer". Charles has been the source of so much speculation and very public falling outs (with his 1st wife and son), maybe he just wants to give Kate breathing room?

That's pretty wholesome. Everyone is talking about how much time it took them to recover from X surgery, but there are usually outside factors like needing to return to work or needing to take care of children or pets or something. Imagine having near unlimited resources and your boss saying take as much time as you need. No one would be back to the office in 2 months after a c-section.

She doesn't go to an office. Their "job" consists of going to random events and making small talk for 45 minutes.

Not even that, she really just dresses up and stands there while she's photographed. So many events are her watching a parade or some other ceremony. She's not even adept at making small talk, there are too many videos that prove that.

I'm on the charitable theory boat as well. I wonder if he's seen the absolute havoc that style of upbringing wrought on his family (especially his sons) and is trying to do what he can to change course a bit.

I also could see it as setting a precedent for when they're one day King and Queen? It's obviously going to be sooner rather than later.

Yeah, maybe they learned something after Harry and Meghan left. Or maybe, now that William is closer to the throne, Kate has more power to demand resting time for her health

"maybe they learned something after Harry and Meghan left."

Given that they go running to their favorite "royal reporters" basically every single day to yell about how much they hate Harry and how Meghan is an evil temptress and how they're never allowed to come back, that's very unlikely.

Kate has no power, now or 5 years ago. She's a figurehead who's entire job is to dress up and be photographed while she watches parades or other ceremonies. She shows up to food banks empty-handed and poses to make it look like she does something.

Two of the charities she's the patron of closed last year due to neglect and lack of fundraising. She can't be bothered to even keep up the appearance of caring about those less fortunate than herself. One charity she made an appearance at 8 years ago and then never went back or mentioned them again. She and her staff are incompetent.

And thinking Charles is showing any kind of benevolence is absurd.

He couldn't do the same for Meghan when she was suicidal and pregnant? Oh but for the white daughter in law who pushed a "king" out of her vagina....
