i was forced against my will to watch the first episode of reacher the other day, and it was bizarre. it was like watching a CGI roidman interact with normal humans. just absolutely wild shit.

anyway i googled this guy as a result and wikipedia was like 'he is bipolar and speaks openly about what this means for him' and was thinking 'oh that's so good! it's always great for bipolar people to see someone stable and successful who acknowledges the condition and its struggles' but the rest of that section tells you he 'he started the YouTube channel InstaChurch, in January 2022, where he discusses his Christian convictions'...maybe i spoke too soon

shit on marvel all you want but they actually care quite a great deal about hiring talented actors. that's why people keep coming back. great acting by charismatic, affable actors.

it's what separates and explains the success of the MCU, they fully invested in making the characters the draw, the spectacle was the bonus. unfortunately after a while they lost sight of that and just started churning out product. i think this year going into next they're going to course correct. i mean, look at the reaction to the fantastic four casting. people cannot wait to see pedro pascal and vanessa kirby, all the superhero-ying stuff is secondary.

Yeah this isn’t untrue & I think people forget this. It was much MORE true during the first two phases of the project. Iron Man was basically a vehicle for RDJ to make a wild comeback and it worked incredibly well. They’ve really lost the plot on this part of things.
