Star Wars has been trickling out information about its upcoming slate. Firstly, Collider reports that the next live action Star Wars series will premiere on June 4th. While Disney has not confirmed this, it does line up with reports from reliable leakers. Skeleton Crew, the other Star Wars live action show slated for 2024, was first rumoured to premiere during the holiday season in 2023 and was reportedly pushed a full year to late 2024 after last year's strikes.
Collider also reports that composer Michael Abels, who collaborated with Jordan Peele on Get Out, Us, and Nope, has been hired to score The Acolyte.
The Acolyte was created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) and stars Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lee Jung-jae, Dafne Keen, and Manny Jacinto. As the show is set during the High Republic Era, 100 years before the prequel trilogy, it is the first Star Wars series to not be part of the Skywalker Saga.

In movie news, The Mandalorian film - now officially The Mandalorian & Grogu - received a massive tax credit to film entirely in California. Star Wars has filmed in the state before, perhaps most notably using the Redwood National Park to stand in for Endor, but never for a full movie. Deadline stresses that the movie is set to film this year (reportedly in the summer). It would be the first Star Wars film to enter production in over 5 years.
