Kate Winslet describes peeing on camera
On Graham Norton's show, Kate Winslet describes the experience of having to film a scene where her character urinates on herself while naked in the 1999 film "Holy Smoke!".
[deets if you are feeling brave]* In the film, Kate played a young cult member who was kidnapped by a cult deprogrammer played by Harvey Keitel
* In one scene, Kate's character has to walk through the desert naked and piss herself to make it look like the deprogramming was working (ngl i saw the movie and i still don't understand this part)
* The director, Jane Campion initally asked Kate if she could pee for real but she refused
* So they had to rig up an elaborate thing that involved a tube and dyed saline solution and it had to be, shall we say, plugged in
* She had to do many takes of it because it kept running down her leg and the filmmakers wanted it to visibly hit the ground
* Cate Blanchett gets into the act extolling the virtues of "She-Wees" a urinary aid for people with vaginas
