I think his downfall has definitely been the result of believing in his hype way too much, but I wouldn't be shocked given her other projects and focuses if she was responsible for a lot of the "heart" you felt in films like Hunt for the Wilderpeople which then disappeared after she left.

The biggest complaints I heard about Next Goal Wins were that its attempts at genuine emotion fell very flat.
