Another Suspicious Death Hits Russia
One of Dmitry Markov’s most notable recent photographs was taken in 2021 when he came to the courthouse where Alexei Navalny was sentenced to prison upon his return to Russia.

- Russian Photographer Dmitry Markov has passed away aged 41. He died the same day as Alexei Navalny.
- Since his most famous photograph (the masked rioter at the desk) became a symbol at the Navalny protests, this is obviously suspicious. He himself was arrested and fined at several of the protests.
- While no cause of death was reported yet, online reports refer to him as a heroin addict (take with a grain of salt obviously).
