The actors were supposed to wear flesh-colored undergarments during the scene, though the suit says on the day of shooting, Zeffirelli urged the teens to be nude, “or the Picture would fail,” according to Variety.
Zeffirelli allegedly showed the actors where the camera would be angled and said no nudity would be captured-however, both Hussey’s breasts and Whiting’s buttocks appear in the film.
Minors shouldn't be nude in films. I don't even care that Olivia made positive comments about it in the past. If you consented to appearing nude for art as a KID I think immediately and forever after you should have some control over the legal distribution of your image.
However, the digital release contains "digitally enhanced photographs" of Whiting and Hussey lying together nude in a bed, as well as other renderings in "high definition."
Why do we need that?

Ah yes, as every film ever has shown us. Only films with nudity succeed.
