When we last left off, Shannen Doherty was claiming Alyssa Milano had gotten her fired from Charmed all those years ago and Alyssa basically reacted by saying "that makes me feel bad." Now Holly Marie Combs has weighed in:

I can’t pretend to be an expert on this and admit I skim read that wall of text but to me I still don’t see what Alyssa did as wrong by talking to the therapist/mediator? Nothing in this post tells me anything that Alyssa did wrong to them but they sounded kinda mean to me in their podcast or whatever it was.

Basically Shannen/Holly didnt want the Spelling mandated mediator to try to use anything the girls said against them and Holly wanted Shannen/Alyssa to work it out privately. The one thing the 3 could unite on.

Shannen/Holly were anti-mediator because they saw it as intrusive and a way to minimise everything to "silly girls having personal drama" to dodge the bigger management and show issues that they were raising. Shannen's firing gets reduced to Alyssa drama, but she'd been ruffling exec feathers a while because she was pushing back on the direction of the show. (Rightly - several of the things later seasons gets most criticised for are things she was resisting). They felt strongly that whatever they said was going to be used against them and to feed the narrative that they were just personally difficult.

And in the end Alyssa's choice did feed the "Alyssa's the professional one and Shannen's the problem" narrative. I don't know whether that was the intent, maybe she just didn't feel able to go against the execs having mandated it.
