I'm by no means an expert on this lad but tbh knowing at least 5% about his life (404 error dad not found, taken away from his mom at five, passed around a million foster homes only to finally wind up with actual blood-related family [why did it take so long??] very late and after his mom passed away) I just feel sympathetic towards him if he does have kinda famewhoreish tendencies -- and I think it's more complicated than just saying he's thirsty/wants to be famous or whatever lol

also unpopular opinion but I think he needs to do something Actually Bad to warrant all the vitriol he's been getting. at this point his crime is being ugly lmao

There is the whole "ditching his baby mama as soon as he gets a bit more famous" bit, to go on and date a blondie pop star. Plus the rumors about him being violent.

idk the real circumstances of their breakup (I've read it was amicable/mutual?) but I haven't interpreted it as a casualty of his rising fame or something like that since it happened before Saltburn came out. maybe that's naïve of me lol. I mostly feel bad for his kid who's probably gonna grow up rarely being around his dad and also having the name "Brando"

re: the violence rumors I do think if/as his profile continues to rise The Truth™ will come out. for now I'm just settling on "well he hasn't been in the news for anything beyond getting his ass beat" (watch this comment age horribly)

idk he leans into hollywood a bit too much but im always going to be pleased for a working class kid to make it
