This whole performance was sweet from beginning to end.

Tracy smiling to the whole crowd cheering from seeing her to the beginning of the song to Luke being a total fanboy throughout the whole performance.

yeah it was cute :) also ngl i kinda liked that in their distribution of the lyrics he took the check-out girl line… way to model not being anxious about your masculinity, white country dude i will never think of again

Funny enough I was reading about it and he says he didn’t think twice about it.

When his version started going around on tiktok last year or whenever it came out, I was annoyed that anyone, especially a white country dude, was covering it. But after seeing this performance and his fanboy moments over Tracy, and seeing/reading about how he did not want to change that particular line - I like his cover a tad bit. Won't go listening to it though. lol

I hated it when I first heard his cover. But the way he put Tracy in it again it ok. He very clearly respects her and this song. It needs respect

honestly, i was already tearing up watching and then there were some shots toward the back half of the song where the camera would pull back and you could see him just staring at her while she sang with joy, admiration, and awe in his eyes and it just made me sob lmao. then there were parts where she was singing and you see him looking at her and mouthing the words along with her. everything about it was so fucking pure, like i know that was one of the best moments of his career right there. i hope hes not problematic lmao

I did think the whole thing was very well done in the way he totally centered her. She's the one playing, he's looking starry-eyed at her the entire time, he's doing it in her key... boy clearly appreciates the master

Yep he was fanboying and basking in her light instead of trying to take it away.

Plus Tracy kept smiling at him too.
