February 3, 2024 Oxygen (and Peacock) will be giving Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla-Pérez's murderer a platform in the two-part limited docuseries Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them. Yolanda Saldivar will share her interpretation of events and claims that everything wasn’t as it seemed. Members of Saldivar’s family will also discuss the two women and share never-before-revealed documents and recordings in an effort to show there was more to the tragedy than the public knows.
“I knew her secrets,” Saldivar said in the trailer for the docuseries. “And I think the people deserved to know the truth.”
Some of those who were on the scene in Corpus Christi, Texas where Selena was murdered in 1995, and who investigated Saldivar, challenged the new information presented and remained steadfast in their determination that she was rightfully convicted.
Saldivar is currently serving a life sentence and is eligible for parole on March 30, 2025. Selena was only 23 years old when Saldivar murdered her.
