1 2 I can't believe this season is already half over!
I was picking up a frequency from Danvers and Peter in the first two episodes and was hoping I was just imagining things. But then this episode had Navarro and Hank both make a reference to it so now I'm wondering if they're going to go there in like a low moment. God I hope not.
Was it explained why they were able to defrost Lund and send him to the hospital but they have to wait for the ice to melt around all of the dead bodies? I don't understand why they have to wait for them to thaw other than it adds a grotesque and creepy vibe. Is it an evidence thing?

I've been wondering why Peter is so subservient and hung up on her...I really hope it's not a romantic thing.

Yeah it seems like he idolizes her, and we know she makes questionable decisions regarding her sex life lol. This season reminds me a lot of Season 1 and that season had that ill-advised hookup between Rust and Maggie so idk, I hope I'm wrong.

TBH I think it's more likely that she sees him as a sort of son since she lost hers, and he sees her as his mentor. I really don't think it's romantic at all.

Maybe I'm just too naive/trusting, but I just assumed that the vibe between Danvers and Peter is due to their weird situation. She dated his father who she knows is a piece of shit so I think she feels some obligation to be a non-shitty parental figure (similar to the way she has taken in Leah). Although she's clearly fond of him, to me it looks she still thinks of him as a kid and a subordinate.
Even though she can be impatient and short tempered with him (which I think reflects her maternal relationship with him), it seems like he is the only one she works with who she trusts to follow orders and actually do any police work. And I think that's part of the reason why she takes the time to talk to him and teach him things - she knows that is he never going to get that kind of mentorship from his own father, despite the fact that he's on the force and could provide that.
I think that's why he is so eager to please her. Between her being a mother figure to him when she dated his dad and missing/resenting his bio mom who abandoned him ( ... )

Wait, I didn't know Danvers & Hank dated? I thought the bad blood was because she replaced him as Chief. What'd I miss?
Danvers & Peter definitely have a more mother/son and mentor/mentee vibe.

Ahhh I missed that, ty!
ETA: the comment below is the discussion I recall. I don't think Danvers & Hank dated. But they do have animosity over Peter in the way that divorced couples do. Hank sees how Peter looks up to Danvers- a woman who outranks him-- in a way he doesn't look up to his own father, and for a misogynistic piece of shit, it galls him
