I don’t care. The game is amazing. The Pokémon Company has done similar things with their designs. Particularly in the early generations. Nothing is original anymore anyways.

They don’t look similar at all? No one’s ever looked at either of these and thought of the other, they’re different interpretations of the same real-life/fantasy animals.

Palworld has literally stolen the shapes and features of Pokémon.

Like I said, they’re reasonably different interpretations of animals/fantasy creatures.

If you think any similarities you claim are here is the same as Palworld literally just stealing designs, then you’re arguing in extremely bad faith.

I didn't doubt you when you said that Pokémon had plagiarized because tbh, that just wouldn't surprise me, but I don't feel like these are great examples. Most of these are just based off of actual animals - a bat, a caterpillar, a clam, a crab, etc.

However, when you consider the context of the gameplay itself and Dragon Quest's success and impact in Japan, it becomes a lot more sus

Well, but certain things like... a rabbit with a horn? The style of Crobat and the first bat. Ammonite and Shellder are awfully similar. So is the Geodude equivalent. The rest could have reasonable doubt for plagiarism.
