Fervent RomCom advocate, LadyJenevia, took a break from her upcoming Bridgerton video to voice her frustrations with online streaming, specifically Amazon Prime for the complete disregard they have in their February RomCom releases.
- Upgraded, starring Camila Mendes (Do Revenge, and Riverdale) and Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), has zero press contact listed despite the Feb. 9th release date (Amazon dropped the trailer on Jan.16). There's also no way for people to contact them for press screeners or junkets.
- Screenwriter Nathan Ramos-Park resorted to hyping-up Five Blind Dates (coming out Feb.13th) on Twitter because Amazon fired so many people that "we don't have execs or much marketing" (Amazon bought out and absorbed MGM last March for $8.5billion)
- Netflix pioneered the streaming market and now everyone is hopping onboard despite the global recession. Who is subscribing to all these different streaming platforms and are you even happy with what you're paying for?
- Previously in a THR Film-Makers' Roundtable, Lulu Wang as talked about the connundrum she faced when deciding the best means to distribute The Farewell. She ultimately went with the smaller offer from A24 rather than a streaming platform that was offering twice the amount because she actually wanted her film to be watched and promoted.
- LadyJenevia ends the video commenting: "You would think that these multi-billion dollar corporations could handle the very basic task of informing you, the audience, of what's coming out and when IN A TIMELY MATTER, but nope, they too busy stealing money from workers instead of doing their jobs."

Meanwhile, Anyone But You (starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell)--a RomCom that did get promoted and is being shown in theaters--"has officially surpassed $100M at the global box-office."
