January 22, 2024 - "Will & Harper" is a new documentary premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, focusing on the relationship between Will Ferrell and his best friend, Harper Steele.
- Harper Steele, a former writer for "Saturday Night Live" (1995-2008), came out as transgender in 2022.
- Ferrell shares that he had little knowledge about the trans community prior to Harper's transition and sees the film as an opportunity for the cis community to learn and support trans individuals.
- The documentary, described as an intimate portrait of friendship, transition, and America, follows Ferrell and Harper on a cross-country road trip after Harper comes out as a trans woman.
