MTE.

If anybody isn't too soured by her to revisit the series from time to time, there is a perfectly good adaptation of it already out there. Let it be.

Honestly I loved the HP stories but the more she opened her mouth the more I started eye rolling

“oh yeah Dumbledore was gay, yeah I planned it that way” (sure Jan, pick your token gay with hindsight that’s great)

The TERF crap

The antisemitic leanings of the goblin portrayal (idk if she meant to write them that way but there are A LOT of parallels with antisemitic caricature so I don’t think I can even give her the benefit of the doubt here)

Definitely not writing Hermione as black but saying “yeah she could be” to coast off of someone else’s diverse casting without acknowledging the lack of diversity in her books (and very stereotyped and lazy diversity *ahem*Cho Chang*ahem* where there was any)

The house elves are happy as slaves storyline (the house elves as slaves full stop I mean wtf) and most wizards are completely “meh it’s always been that way, whatchagonnado” about it

Defending Depp (even though she herself is a victim of domestic abuse)

And honestly that’s probably not even all of it.

honestly though, i never really minded her saying dumbledore was gay after the series came out because aside from snape, we don't really know much about the personal lives of any of the teachers. that's low on my list of criticisms for her work.

Same but with everything else it just adds fuel to my fire with hindsight 😂

For me that part was just annoying af because she kept adding these bits to the story to score inclusion brownie points and never actually pushed for these things to become canon when she had the chance later on (i.e in the fb movies). That way she got her praise for being inclusive, yet no bigots ever had to be faced with that inclusivity in canon.
