Actor Josh Radnor (49) married clinical psychologist Jordana Jacobs (36) at Cedar Lakes Estate in Hudson Valley, New York, on January 6. The two met at a three day sound meditation retreat in February 2022 where they ingested psychedelic mushrooms and listened to singing bowls and chimes. Josh said that during the event, he heard a voice telling him, “That’s her. That’s your woman.”
Within minutes of leaving the retreat, Josh began texting her. They got engaged at Joshua Tree in May (it's unclear if it was May 2022 or 2023). In a September 2023 interview, he mentioned that he was living with his fiancée in Brooklyn. During a November 2023 show in New York, he told the audience that he was getting married soon.
Two nights before the wedding, Josh and Jordana dined alone in a heated glass igloo with views on the wedding venue’s property. Jordana surprised him with a collection of their voice memos from when they began dating. The night before the wedding, there was a dinner with decorative mushrooms. Guests wrote their intentions on cards and tossed them into a fire. Josh played the guitar and sang a song he wrote about Jordana which included the lyrics: “One day this’ll all be gone, what remains will be the songs I sang to you.”

Josh described the snowstorm as “cold and anxiety-producing, but also cosmic and divine.” 115 of the guests had originally planned to stay in cabins at the venue the night of the wedding but due to the weather, the roads became impassable. As a result, 59 additional people including wedding guests, the 10 members of the wedding band, the event planners, the venue staff members, and a reporter and a photographer from The New York Times had to sleep in bunkbeds in rooms that the couple’s friends had rented for the weekend, while others slept at the venue owner’s on-site residence.
Guests received welcome bags containing incense sticks, an incense dish, CBD tincture and an “intention kit” with paper and a pen. “We find that setting an intention can be a helpful way to drop in and calibrate your internal compass to true north,” the instructions read.
Josh's labradoodle Nelson served as the honorary best man. Alyson Hannigan and Pamela Fryman, both from How I Met Your Mother, were in attendance.
Excerpts from the 10 minute long vows:
Jordana: “My first vow is freedom, which also means we are free to stay, or - if this relationship ever evolves in such a way that it is no longer serving our highest good - we are free to go. We know it is choice, not obligation, that makes us want to remain exactly where we are.”
Josh: “I look into the infinity of your green eyes, I know that my not having gotten married until now was not due to some brokenness in me. The truth is, I didn’t get married until now because I was waiting for you.”
