"Rap Sh!t" Cancelled at Max

After 2 seasons, the Issa Rae comedy has been cancelled. The show, currently on The Warner Bros.-Discovery streamer, had planned to have season 2 premiere in August but was pushed back to November due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The season finished December 21.

I actually forgot to check this show out after watching the trailer

Was it any good cos I honestly have not heard anyone talking about it...

It's fun. It's not prestige TV, the writing could've been stronger, and one of the leads (KaMillion) is a much better actor than the other (Aida) but it has some genuinely funny moments and the music created for the show is great.

I'm surprised this show didn't come up on my FYP's more on sm because I love Issa and get a lot of content about her but I seriously did not see this show come up for me at all

I will check it out though cos I love Issa and have been following her since her youtube days. It's just too bad that I missed this show while it was on air

The first few episodes of season one are tonally uneven but the show really picks up steam and gets really good. I think it's a great exploration of trying to make it in a business that commodifies Black culture but doesn't appreciate Black women's cultural contributions

oh i haaaated how the first few episodes were basically shown through their facetimes and videos lol im glad they brought in a camera person
