I am so beyond disappointed in Hyuna. Like… wow. I see a lot of people online trying to make it seem like this is especially terrible because Hyuna was viewed as some pillar of feminism in kpop. I don’t think Hyuna ever set out to be that. She just happened to be a confident performer/ artist who uses her sexuality to make a statement in an otherwise conservative country. But she was not the first woman in kpop to do so and will not be the last. The part that’s most disappointing to me is that Hyuna and Hara (who he recorded having sex with and threatened to leak the footage) were friends. I can’t imagine what debuting in the industry as young as Hyuna did, and having to hang around those sorts of men as a teenager with a marketed ‘sexy’ image had to have done for her mentally but you would think she’d know better than this.

I feel like that probably made things normalized for her :(
idk where people get the impression that hyuna's sexuality was some sort of statement. korea has had multiple "sexy" popstars, hyuna was one of many. her image was very male gaze-oriented and her popularity started to fall when she moved away from that but also the drama around her and edawn. the moment she stopped being for male consumption, people were happy to hate on her.

I agree with everything you said but that was Hara's ex Choi Jongbum, not Junhyung.
