While boring, pretty much every single one of these is deserved. Can't really fault Succession, The Bear and Beef doing near sweeps.

The only side eye is Paul Walter Hauser, who is a real life cartoon of an actor.

I haven't watched Black Bird, but I'm still pissed that Domhnall Gleeson didn't get a nom for The Patient

True, but did you see Black Bird? Because it worked in that show. It was fucking harrowing. The show is about toxic masculinity and he was perfect in the role. Taron was good too and I'm glad he was nominated though I am also glad Stephen won.

I absolutely love The Bear and it deserves awards, but ia that it should be considered a drama. Not every show that lasts 30 minutes is a comedy

Someone on Twitter pointed out Emmy voters probably thought they were voting for The Bear S2 lol. "Forks" aired right around the voting window which I'm sure is why Ebon Moss-Bacharach won (he deserves! But next year!)

It doesn't have to be lighthearted but it does need to be comedic and the bear isn't.

It definitely toes the line of comedy and drama, so I wouldn't begrudge someone debating it's category submission, but it absolutely reads as comedy to me, so I'm not mad about it.

I found this to be an interesting watch lol The cast/writers seem offended by the comedy questions. All dramas will have a few occasional laughs, but that doesn't make it a comedy. This award was for S1, and I truly think I only laughed once.

As I said in the last post I feel like comedy is very under appreciated/under awarded as is, so for a drama to take home every single comedy award... I feel bad for the writers/performers of legit comedies. The Bear is obviously a fantastic show, but I understand why people are upset by it.

Anyways, yay my Succession folks!!! SO very much deserved. I thought it was cute that Brian was mouthing Kieran's name as he was announced as the winner<3

I feel nuts about this bc like. Jeremy Allen White is not giving a comedic performance in this show! I can’t even imagine him telling a joke. Hader, Sudeikis, Segal, Short…they’re all comedic performances lol even when the comedy is pitch black like in Barry, and they have all actually made me laugh

your point about jeremy is so true. since this is actually for s1 he 100% won for that monologue at that aa meeting or whatever it was. in what way is that a comedic show? the only other comedy i watched that was also nominated is omitb and it makes me sad that martin short won't ever win bc he's genuinely hilarious and carries that show.

and then i actually dont think their answers were that strong of a defense lol. esp the part about being one hour vs half hour "we got bunched in, we got into comedy cuz we're half hour"

to me its kinda like, if people have to constantly debate whether or not a joke is funny and you have to explain why the joke is funny, i think it might be best to assume your joke isnt funny.
