Same. His latest work has been really lackluster.

IA he didn’t seem desperate and pathetic as he does now.

I love that movie.
I wonder why Leo has never worked with Spielberg (or Nolan) again.

I think it’s a mix of scheduling of the projects and the parts. Based on the projects Spielberg and Nolan have done since working with Leo, I don’t see fitting lead roles of any of their past films that would have been right for Leo. Spielberg has always kind of swung back and forth between covering male adolescence to roles for actors 50/60+. Plus, Spielberg’s films tend to skew towards happy endings or ones in which the characters are fulfilled. Leo loves death, darkness, and the void (a true Scorpio Sun lol).

For Nolan, all of his post 2010 projects would have conflicted with other projects that Leo ended up doing and really cemented his talent and/or bankability as a adult, male lead for like Django, Wolf of Wall Street, The Revenant, OUATIH, and now Killers of the Flower Moon.

same. he was far more natural? Now it feels like you see him thinking about his acting

He was more willing to take chances with roles. He's become complacent like DeNiro and Pacino in some ways. Granted the quality of so many films has been lackluster too over the years.

He needs a director to actually challenge him again, he’s just too comfortable imo
