I definitely think so. His accident was a lot worse than people realize, it put him out for a while. The motorcycle he was on was hit by a stunt car and fell with him on it, he got a facial fracture and brain trauma and had to have surgery. The third Maze Runner was delayed because it happened during it

It definitely played a factor. With this kind of accidents people need reconstructive surgeries, they need to re-learn speech, etc.

He was on the rise before it happened, so his career path definitely lost some traction, time will tell if he manages to regain that traction.
