tbh they had to use Back to Black in this trailer to get people like me, who...only know that song and Rehab, interested. What other songs of Amy's should I listen to?

before "back to black," she released an album called "frank" which is also great but less pop-ish. more r&b and blues influence.

nelsan ellis died of alcohol poisoning when he was detoxing. there is no replacement for that high. you chase it until your dead.
i'm so grateful for my sobriety but every moment of every day i'd rather be fuckced up on drugs

i'll never be rid of my addiction but i do remember how every day, for 10 years, i drug myself to school/work hungover and thinking "that night of drinking was NOT worth this pain," but afterwards i would come home and drink myself to sleep all over again. my drinking turned into a routine rather than a compulsion and i just wasn't willing to break my routine and stop. it was a very dark time in my life.
i'm rambling haha but your comment opened up something in me, i usually don't count my sober days but today i am over 1 year and 10 months sober ^_^

This one has such a reflective feeling, heavier on regretful.

From her album Frank: (There Is) No Greater Love, Fuck Me Pumps, Take The Box
Unlisted/singles/posthumous: Body And Soul (duet w/ Tony Bennett), Valerie (specifically the "revisited" version with Mark Ronson imo, but the BBC Radio 1 Lounge version is also exquisite), Heard It Through The Grapevine (live, Jool's Holland)
Honestly her discography is worth a listen to in its entirety, she's one of my favorite artists of all time.

Something more upbeat. It comes across as a song about love/infatuation but it's actually about weed lol. Sampled by jazz musician Grover Washington.
Frank is overlooked because the Back to Black album was too incredible. Frank has its own magic.
