i had so many problems with Stranger Things 4 and he wasn't one of them. he actually made me like jonathan after two seasons of kinda hating him and finding him boring lmao.

i think it's very shitty that they didn't even call him to tell him yes or no, but kept around like. fucking Vicky who was in three scenes. i know he seemed to have bonded with Charlie and Finn, so it's not even like he was a bad person to work with (not that that matters since they're keeping genocidal maniac brett gelman and noah 'zionism is sexy' schnapp employed, and i doubt those two are fucking fun to work with) it's just the writers and the Duffers being dicks.

Yeah. Not keeping him is whatever but adding Vicky is a choice. A white choice, lbr.
At least Eduardo had a whole season with multiple main characters. Vicky had one scene with one character. And she looked like a Great Value Molly Ringwald with that cheap ass wig!

literally, like there wasn’t even any time to gauge whether she had chemistry with Robin or not but there she is in the photo for the season 5 read thru! (I also find Robin ah-noying and don’t see why she needs a love interest I am not invested in her one bit)

that scene from the gif was one of the only scenes in s4 that made laugh out loud without laughing AT the overall shittiness and that says a lot bc there wasn't much of that.

and yeah, he made jonathan likeable??? which seemed impossible up to that point, i was genuinely shocked to find myself caring about jonathan again. their interviews were also the only ones where i felt like there was at least some enjoyment involved while everybody else seemed like they openly hated doing promo for season 4 which i can't blame them for but like, they all seemed so fucking pissed and annoyed while eduardo, charlie and finn were just making each other laugh the whole time lol probably bc none of them really gave a shit but still.

He was the only reason I gave a care about what L was doing at all. His character was so charismatic where Jonathan is a blackhole, makes me miserable every time he's on screen sucking all the energy away. Finn seems like he barely wants to be there phoning it in, and the bowl cut asshole still seems like he's in elementary acting 101. Eduardo and L were the only ones in that group that seemed like they showed up for work consistently tbh. It's BS they dropped him.

I think it is partly because they are done with California and staying in Hawkins.
Also Amybeth who plays Vicky was likely planned for a bigger role. She has a fairly large fanbase from Anne with an E, and I think the duffers mentioned loving her in that which made them want to hire her.

Not excusing the largely white cast remaining largely white, but probably some of the reasoning.
